24 September 2026

One of the many horses that has found its way via the Limburg Foal Auction, to a place where its talent can be put to optimal use is the Emerald van ‘t Ruytershof son Emoraldi Terma Z. This seven-year-old top talent is now competing at international 1.40m level and qualified this summer, for the second year in a row, for the World Championships for Young Show Jumpers. His remarkable rise earns him the title of LVV Horse of the Year.

Bred from the well-known Terma damline, Emoraldi Terma Z was bred by Bert and Marion van den Oetelaar and Eduard Coppens. With his strong pedigree, good type and canter, he already made an impression as a foal and was therefore selected for the Limburg Foal Auction. The Emerald van ‘t Ruytershof son came into the hands of owner Sarah Borthwick, who is affiliated with HK Horses, and began his international sporting career as a five-year-old under Toby Parsons. With this rider he took part last year in the World Championships for six-year-old show jumpers in Lanaken, shortly after making his 1.40m debut under Richard Howley. He has since also achieved good results under Rachel Proudley, William Whitaker and Graham Gillespie, winning bronze at the British Championships for seven-year-olds with the latter. This summer, thanks to his strong results, Emoraldi Terma Z also qualified for the World Championships for seven-year-olds, under Richard Howley.
