Foal export flourishes in Limburg province

1 October 2012

WEERT – The 12th edition of the Limburger Foal Auction in Weert turned out to be a fantastic closing of the foal auction season. The average price of the 67 foals was € 6.205,22. This year’s foal collection consisted mainly of show jumping foals.
The 2012 edition was the first year organised by Stal Hendrix. The take-over by Stal Hendrix brings a clear international impulse. Over 40% of all the auctioned foals are sold abroad to 8 different countries. Namely: Sweden (3), USA (10), Canada (2), Ireland (6), Belgium (2), Germany (2), Finland (2) en England (1).
The most expensive foal was the Berlin-offspring Houdini. This talented foal exchanged owners for an amount of € 18.000,- and goes to Ireland. The most expensive mare foal was Highlight Blue (Chacco Blue x Numero Uno). The Belgian auctioneer Koen Olaerts sold this mare foal for € 12.000,-
