Gredley wins $50.000 puissance with DSHS-horse Unex Valente

3 November 2012

Great Britain’s Tim Gredley and his DSHS-horse Unex Valante won the puissance class during the Alltech National Horse Show by clearing a wall of 7’ and won $50.000.
The Alltech National Horse Show took place from October 30th until November 4th in Lexington, Kentucky (USA). The puissance class was held on Saturday and attracted many spectators. Eight entries gathered for the class to jump the wall. But as the height rose the number of rider left continued to dwindle.
The gelding Unex Valente (Gentleman x Sit this one Out) (Breeders: H. and C. Leenders, Asten-Heusden) is owned by Unex Competition Yard. This offspring of Gentleman was sold at the Limburger Foal Auction in 2002 and again as a 4-year-old at the Dutch Sport Horse Sales in 2006.
‘I have had the horse since he was four, so I know him inside and out,’ explained Gredley. ‘This was his first puissance. He’s a bit of an all-purpose horse, he’s been doing speed classes, and I did the six bar on him. When you know a horse that long, you know what he is capable of.’
It turned out to be an even more succesfull show for Gredley. He became 6th in the 1m50 class on Thursday with his horse Unex Timo IV. Also Timo (Numero Uno x Damiro) was bought at the Dutch Sport Horse Sales, but during the 2005-edition.
