In the spotlight: Cas!

22 January 2018

One of the shooting stars in the international show jumping sport is Harrie Smolders’ Indoctro offspring Cas. This 10yo gelding was ridden by Audrey Coulter and Cameron Hanley before, and has already built up an impressive record. He is another top Grand Prix horse which is sold as a foal at the Limburg Foal Auction.

Partly thanks to the good performances with Cas (Indoctro x Numero Uno, bred by Th. Tax from Blitterswijck), Harrie Smolders was named most successful rider at London Olympia CSI5*. Harrie rides the 10yo KWPN horse for the Copernicus Stables and builds a remarkable list of achievements with him. At London Olympia they jumped clear in the 1.50m class, were runner-up in the 1.55m class in which they were double clear, and claimed to fourth prize in the 1.60m class with an 0/4-result.

Career maker
Also at the CSI4* in Stockhom and the CSI3* in Birmingham, where they shared the victory in the 1.60m class with accumulator, the pair has recently showed outstanding performances. Only five months ago Harrie took over the reins of Cas from co-owner Audrey Coulter (pictured), who was successful with him at 1.45/1.50m level. The Indoctro offspring was trained by Cameron Hanley. With this Irish rider he was second in the 1.60m Grand Prix of Donaueschingen and won an 1.50m class at CSI3* Allersehl. Given the strong performances of Harrie and his LVV ambassador Cas, much can still be expected of this pair in the future.
